Getting Started

Setting up your Google Review link

One link unlocks QR codes for your van and tells review requests after paid jobs where to send your customers.

This is the single most important thing to set up after your site goes live. It's a 30-second job that unlocks a lot of automation.

Why it matters

When you paste your Google Review link into MyTradeSite, three things start working:

  • QR codes for your van, business cards, and invoices that take customers straight to your review page
  • Review requests after paid jobs — when you mark a job paid, the customer gets an email 24 hours later pointing at this link
  • Google takes notice — review count and recency are among the things Google looks at when it decides which local businesses to show. We can't promise a position; nobody honestly can

Finding your link in Google

  1. Sign in to your Google Business Profile at business.google.com.
  2. Click your business, then look for "Get more reviews" or "Ask for reviews".
  3. Google gives you a short link starting with g.page/r/... or g.co/kgs/.... Copy it.

If you don't have a Google Business Profile yet, set one up first — there's a guide in the Tools tab of your dashboard. It takes about 10 minutes and Google posts you a verification card.

Pasting it into MyTradeSite

  1. Go to Website → Pages → Homepage in your dashboard.
  2. Find the Google Review Link field.
  3. Paste the link in and hit Save.

That's it. Your QR codes will now work, and review requests will point customers straight at your Google listing. (Without the link, the request still goes out — it just asks them to search for you on Google instead.)
